Digital Learning & BYOD Program

Digital learning is essential for students as it equips them with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a technology-driven world. By integrating digital tools and platforms into education, students can access a wealth of resources, foster creativity, and personalise their learning experiences to meet individual needs. Digital learning encourages critical thinking and collaboration through interactive content and real-world problem-solving activities. It also prepares students to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and develop essential competencies such as digital literacy, communication, and innovation. At Edwardstown Primary School, we believe digital learning empowers students to become confident, life-long learners who are ready to navigate the challenges of the 21st century.

We are committed to providing our students with excellent access to digital learning tools. Through consistent budgeting and strategic planning, we ensure that technology supports and enhances teaching and learning across the school. For students in Reception to Year 4, we have pods of iPads and laptops available for teachers to borrow and integrate into classroom programs as needed. In Years 5 and 6, students benefit from 1:1 access to laptops, allowing them to further develop their digital skills and engage in deeper learning.

Families of Year 5/6 students have three options to suit their needs: students can borrow a school laptop that stays at school, rent a school laptop that can be taken home, or bring a compatible Windows laptop from home that meets the school’s specifications. This flexible approach ensures families have choices to suit their needs and all students have equitable access to technology, preparing them for a connected and ever-evolving future.
